This butter dish is mottled sienna brown over a buff white stoneware clay body. It varies somewhat each firing and may be different from past firings. There is some variation with the amount of black and brown from piece to piece.

This butter dish is made with a high iron stoneware clay with blue flower design in the center of the lid. I use the same glaze as the stony white but with the high iron clay the glaze is changed by the iron being pulled into the glaze during the reduction firing causing a stony granite look.
